Palm Coast Lions Club Helps Bring the Gift of Connection to Local Resident with Hearing Loss

Palm Coast Lions Club Helps Bring the Gift of Connection to Local Resident with Hearing Loss

Palm Coast, FL 10/5/25

The Palm Coast Lions Club, led by President Shara Brodsky, is proud to announce a new community impact initiative made possible through collaboration with Cathy McDermott, owner of Hear for You Mobile Audiology, and Brodsky’s business, Sift & Sort a local downsizing company.

Through Sift & Sort, Brodsky received a donation of a CaptionCall phone, a specialized device designed for individuals with hearing loss. Wanting to ensure it reached someone in need, she reached out to Cathy McDermott of Hear for You Mobile Audiology, a trusted local audiologist who provides in-home hearing care throughout the Palm Coast area. When Brodsky asked if she had a client who could benefit, McDermott immediately responded, “As a matter of fact, I do.”

The recipient is a retired mother who recently relocated to Palm Coast from upstate New York. Although she wears hearing aids, she continues to struggle with phone conversations, making it difficult to stay connected with her family. With the installation of the CaptionCall phone next week by Hear for You Mobile Audiology, she will now be able to hear conversations more clearly and communicate with her loved ones with greater ease.

“We are so thrilled to be able to help individuals in our community in meaningful ways,” said Brodsky. “The Lions Club has always been committed to supporting vision and hearing initiatives, and this is just one more way we can make a difference.”

The Palm Coast Lions Club continues to live out its mission of service by connecting resources, professionals, and community members in need.
